“Yes, we are in the middle of the Grand Canyon Bright Angel Trail. We have fed it some water and bread, but it is still panting. Sure! We’ll wait till you come in, Thanks”, Rachael looked relieved as she ended her call. Rachael and her friends were on a trail when they came across a dying Rock squirrel on the way. Being an animal rescuer herself, Rachael had the contact numbers of the rescue teams in the area who were on the way for the little squirrel. The 7.8-mile trail has sufficient signposts to guide the rescue team to Rachael and Co. but it won’t be the same on other trails, uninhabited areas, deserted roads, and more.
Animal Rescue operations have become increasingly important worldwide with awareness and increasing sensitivity toward fauna. From tarantulas to pythons, deers, to falcons, bees to koala bears, initiatives are taken to extricate them from wherever they are stuck and set them free. Can Maplytics, Inogic’s 5-star rated app of Microsoft AppSource contribute in any manner to this pious cause? A case study of one of our Animal Rescuer clients using Maplytics within Dynamics 365 CRM points in the right direction! So, Let’s find out!
Visualization of frequent spots on Maps
The wild deer, bears, and foxes often reach out to residential homes near their habitats for food. They rummage through the trash cans and break into car windows and even houses. Once in, they often don’t understand the way out. The residential stips often succumbing to such innocent attacks could be our record points. Their coordinates could be marked and they could be plotted on the maps with Maplytics within Dynamics 365 CRM. Apart from residential lands, other land areas such as highways close to the forest lines, some deserted parts of the cities, trails, etc. can also be noted and plotted. Every new incident reported could be added to the list of records. Similar to these incident spots, the places of the rescue organizations should be plottable on the map. The information related to them should be in the CRM.
Organizing a network of travel Routes
Once the plot points are in, optimized routes can be plotted from the rescue organizations to the incident spots with end-to-end driving directions. The rescue teams could use them for convenience and faster actions. Such routes can also be plotted for nearby vets and medical facilities so that in case of an injury, the animal or the human could be helped quickly.
Similar travel routes could be plotted for food suppliers and pharmacies. The rescue organizations keep the animals with them until their adoption or until they are fit and fine enough to hit the forests again. These animals need food, medicines, injections, IVs, and physiotherapies from time to time. So, the people providing the same to such rescue organizations could be provided with navigation directions in order to drive down hassle-free!
Live Tracker for Rescued Animals
Sometimes, the rescued animals tend to return to the same spots and get stuck again. It gets difficult to rescue them in case the places are no longer inhabited. Such animals could be placed with tracking chips and could be tracked for a few days with Real-Time Tracking. Once they break out of the memory, they do not return to the same incident spot.
Contributions toward Rescue Operations
Rescue Operations require a lot of manpower in terms of volunteering, training, and finances. Finding donors is a continuous process if the Organization is a Non-profit. With Maplytics, frequent donors could be recorded and plotted on maps for the next rounds of collection. Activities such as fundraisers, meet and greet with the rescued animals, adoption drives, etc. could be organized for these donors at places near them. Flash mailers for the same could be sent to them using Maplytics as invites and the events could be organized.
As a token of appreciation and gratitude, all the contributors to the rescue organizations could be provided with monthly merchandise. With the Smart Route operation within the Detail Map Control, teams from the Rescue Organization could select the contributor records, create a travel route for them, set appointments to drop off the merchandise every few months, and perform the activity.
Overall, Maplytics if used smartly could work wonders in the field of animal rescue and protection as well.
