Field Sales and Service Reps are always on the go and need a way to navigate to the Appointments scheduled in Dynamics 365 on the Mobile and Tablet devices.
Dynamic CRM provides a robust system for Field Sales and Service Reps to schedule and manage their Appointments. However, creating optimized routes and getting turn-by-turn navigation while on the go is something that can only be achieved with a powerful geo-analytical and routing app like Maplytics.
Maplytics provides Field Sales and Service Reps the features needed to visualize Dynamics CRM records on the map, schedule appointments right from the map screen, manage appointments with a geographical context and create and share optimized routes to visit those appointments.
In our recent release of Maplytics, we added an option to access those Navigation Links to visit those waypoints and get turn-by-turn navigation on the Google Maps app on their mobile or tablet devices.
Navigation Links for routes in Dynamics CRM for turn-by-turn navigation in Google Maps App
We already know the benefits of appointment planning with geographical context with Maplytics Appointment Planner. However, creating an optimized route and getting the navigation links that provided turn-by-turn navigation on the Google Maps app was a feature that was limited to the Send Route Email option.
The users had no other way to get the navigation links in Dynamics CRM that redirected to the Google Maps app.
We decided to change this and added the Navigation Link button that provides links of the route from waypoint A-B, B-C, C-D and so on. These links are provided in a pop-up window that is responsive across devices.
So, if a Field Sales or Service Rep access these links on their Dynamics 365 App for Phones and Tablets, it would now redirect them to the Google Maps App on their mobile or tablet.
How to access the Google Maps navigation links for routes in Dynamics 365
Accessing the route navigation links for Google Maps in Dynamics CRM is simple and takes just a click of a button after you have created a route.
So, for example, if a Field Sales and Service Rep creates a route using Maplytics in Dynamics CRM, he can then access the navigation links for Google Maps by clicking on the blue Navigation button on the Directions Card as shown below.
Similarly, the field Sales or Service Rep can access the navigation links on the Dynamics 365 App for Phones and Tablets.
Once the user clicks on this button, a Navigation Links popup opens up with the navigation links from waypoint A-B, B-C, C-D and so on.
On the Dynamics 365 App for Tablets, the navigation links look as shown below;
These links redirect to the Google Maps site on the Desktop/Laptop.
Moreover, on the Dynamics 365 App for Phones and Tablets, these links redirect to the Google Maps App.
By having the ability to get the turn-by-turn navigation from within Dynamics 365 on to the Google Maps app further improves the mobility of the Field Sales and Service Reps and helps them to achieve more when on the field.
Maplytics is a leading Certified for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CfMD) geo-analytical app that provides powerful map visualization and routing capabilities within Dynamics CRM to offer insightful location-based business insights. With Maplytics the Field Sales and Service Reps can create optimized routes to save mileage and reduce traveling costs. They can further choose to save and share the optimized routes with other users either through email or directly saving the route in Dynamics 365.
Apart from routing features Maplytics offers a plethora of useful features like Appointment Planner, Proximity Search based on Distance and Time, Concentric Proximity Search based on Distance, Along the Route Search, Analytical Dashboards, and Territory Mapping & Management, an organization, can drive better sales, improve business processes and engage right customers at the right time.
